My Camera Gear: Sony a6000
A few month ago I decided to buy a proper camera, but I did not want to spend too much money. After some research I found the Sony a6000 which was recommended many times. It is an affordable and extremely compact system camera.
Some facts about the camera:
- 24MP APS-C CMOS sensor
- 11 fps continous shooting
- 3 inch display which can be tilted up and down
- electronic viewfinder
- Full HD Video recording at 1080/60p
- Connects to your phone via WiFi
I am new to photography. Before I only had my phone to take pictures. For this reason I started in the “intelligent automatic” mode to take my first pictures. Which turned out really nice. Nevertheless sometimes I wanted for example a different field of depth. After a few days I already felt confident enough to test manual mode and it was a lot easier than I expected. The camera is really intuitive to use. Even in low light conditions it creates amazing pictures.
Using the camera for a few months now, I can tell that I am really pleased with it. With it’s small size I can easily carry it with me and quickly take pictures with a suprising quality. Due to the optimized autofocus I barely see a need to manually set the focus.
If you are also looking for a relatively cheap camera with a small form factor, I can highly recommend it.

To make good indoor pictures you need a good light source. Therefore I use a Viltrox L132T LED Panel which is battery powered but you can also use a power supply. You can mount it directly to the hot shoe of your camera. Furthermore you can set the colour temperature as well as the brightness with a knob, which is very handy.

To get steady shots a tripod can also be really usefull. My choice as tripod is a cheap option by Neewer. It is extendable and can be used as tripod as well as monopod. Including a small bag you can also carry it if you want to take it with you.
