3D Printer Guide
Which Printer should you buy?
You are new to 3D printing or just think about buying another printer? But which is the right printer for you? There is such a huge variety of different printers out there, it is really difficult to maintain an overview
Before I can assist you with the choice for your new printer, you should ask yourself a few questions:
What do you need/want the printer for?
Small figures/miniatures, functional prints or maybe you want it for cosplay?
What size of items do you want to print?
This again is related to the previous question. To print big objects without splitting them into many small pieces, you also need a big printer. But if you only print small stuff, a big printer takes more space and might be more expensive
How much money do you want to spend?
There are printers out there starting as low as 100$ and printers for thousands or even hundreds of thousands $
As Cheap as possible? Creality Ender-3
If you do not have a lot of money or are not sure if this is a hobby for you and do not want to spend a lot of money, this might be the printer for you. It is easy to assemble and has a good print quality right out of the box.
This printer has a print volume of 220 x 220 x 250mm, which should be big enough for most people.

Touchscreen, hidden power supply and a sturdy frame:
Anycubic I3 Mega
This is the 3D printer I own and I can highly recommend it. It is still affordable but has all the electronics hidden in the comprartment at the bottom, which is safer (since you can not accidentelly touch to power suplly) and looks cleaner. It has a very sturdy frame and still is easy to assemble, only 4 screws are needed to put the printer together. Also the build plate (ultrabase) is great. Most materials stick very well to it but once the bed cools down, the prints pop right off. This printer does not need any modifications to produce great prints. Nevertheless I still changed some things, more information about the things I changed can be found here.

You need a BIG printer? Creality CR-10S
If you need a big print volume, the CR10S is for you. It has a build volume of 300 x 300 x 400 mm. This printer also is relatively easy to assemble and there is a huge community behind it. The “S” Version has a few useful upgrades compared to the previous version, so I would recommend you to get this version.
Just in case this is still not big enough, there is even an enlarged version with 400 x 400 x 400 mm or even 500 x 500 x 500 mm. But keep in mind, to print something that huge, it will take a very long time.

You have 900$ to spend and want to print tall objects quick?
Tevo Little Monster
In contrast to the previous printers which are “cartesian” this one is a “delta” printer. This design allows for higher acceleration and therefore higher print speeds. It has a round footprint of 340mm and prints up to 500mm high.
